[ the package is a curious thing, and at first jack thinks maybe sam or dean got a girlfriend if they're getting flowers and presents, but when he opens it up and sees the incense, his mind immediately goes to eddie and what he'd heard about october.

immediately, he's stuffing his face in the box and smelling them (repeating the same action with the flowers, of course, and probably getting pollen on his face), because he's weird like that, but it's nice. eddie gets a call shortly after. ]

You gave me flowers. And incense. [ it's like he's never gotten a present in his life. because he hasn't. ] Thank you, Eddie. That's really kind, and I'll make sure I keep one burning.

Oh, and I think you're right. I'm not allergic to anything.

Oh. Yeah. (Eddie sounds mildly embarrassed. He hadn't expected to hear back on any of his random deliveries, so you know.)

The flowers are kinda useless but there's a whole bunch at the florist shop and some are gonna be going out of season soon so I thought it'd be nice...

(Eddie doesn't really know how to explain that he just felt maybe certain people seemed like they deserved random flowers.)

I don't think they're useless. They're nice to look at and they smell good. That's two things better than outside right now.

[ outside, which looks creepy as hell, and everything smells like blood, and it's super gross, so he's happy to have the little bit of niceness to remind him that not everything sucks right now. and that he has a friend who gave him flowers. ]

Yes, I can get sick, and it's terrible and I hate it. [ and he died, so that part sucked super extra bad, but we're resolutely not thinking about that part of it right now. ] I went to a hospital and they took my clothes and put tubes in me.
